Silicone rubber is a semi-organic synthetic material. Aesthetically it looks and behaves like organic rubber, but a completely different structure from other elastic materials. This structure makes silicone rubber very flexible, while making it a material that has very little change in dynamic characteristics over a wide temperature range.
Silicone has a service range of -100° to +200°C. Silicone rubber has many
excellent mechanical qualities, but its greatest advantage is that it does not lose color to UV light. Therefore, even under a Caribbean sun, these wind sleeves will remain as good as new. The flange and ring are made of hard plastic. The wind sleeve can be twisted on and off. No tools are needed; the fastening ring can easily be loosened by hand. A stainless steel (AISI316) mosquito net and a cap to close the wind sleeve can be ordered as options.
